Why am I having issues enabling my camera and microphone?

What to do when experiencing firewall issues?
When experiencing firewall issues you may need to allow Veertly to run. This is done, depending on the instance, by adding the following exceptions to the firewall. Which browsers are supported by Veertly?
Veertly is supported on the following browsers: Google Chrome Microsoft Edge (from version 85) Chromium-based browsers Firefox (from version 80) Safari (partially) However, some browsers, like Brave, have very high privacy settings, so in these cases users will need to disable their ‘shields’ to give the browser access to their camera and microphone. There is also the possibility that some extensions might be restricting the access to all the Veertly functions.

Can I add a virtual background on a Veertly call?
Veertly doesn’t support the adding of a virtual background on a video call natively. You can however use a 3rd party tool to create a virtual camera that can then be used inside Veertly. Some applications that allow you to add a virtual background are: OBS ManyCam SnapCam mmhmm

What are the bandwidth requirements to attend a Veertly event?
The amount of bandwidth required to attend a Veertly event is directly linked to the amount of people in the video-call. The system tries to adjust the quality of the call and participants video based on the bandwidth availability, but we suggest a good internet connection so that you have the best experience. [Rooms] Why am I having issues entering a room?
Having the event open in another tab can interfere with smooth operations in Veertly, so if you are having trouble joining rooms or are getting kicked, make sure you don’t have any other tabs of the same event open anywhere.
[Backstage] How to access the backstage section?
You can set any attendee of your event as a “Speaker”, which will give them the rights to access the backstage section. This can be done before or during the event. Please check the video below for more details on how to set someone as “Speaker”.

The networking area of an event allows participants to talk on video-calls with other participants of the event or join existing conversations up to 4 people. Why am I getting an offline message when I am not?
The being offline message may appear in the following situations: You lost internet connection You had your session opened in another tab, browser or device and you closed it, making the current session as offline. If it happened to you, just reload the browser. You are connecting through a corporate network or VPN which is preventing the access to our services. [Chat] How to send a direct message?
It is now possible to send direct messages to any participant in the event. Just click on their profile and send them a message! On the chat tab, you now have two tabs, one for the global chat and another for the conversations that lists all direct message conversations the user has exchanged.
