  • [Host] How can I add a co-host to my event?
    You can add hosts in two ways: Promoting any user inside the event as a host Add a guest user in your event with the HOST role (check here how to configure the guest access) All the hosts of the event will have the same rights as the owner of the event, so be sure to give the rights only to the correct user.   • [Main Stage] How to configure the main stage?
    The main stage of your event can have one of three different modes: Video conference: a video call where participants can actively interact with each other. This mode is recommended for smaller events of less than 20 people. Live stream: all attendees will watch a live stream which is showing the show.   • [Rooms] How can I add an app?
    To add a new app to your Veertly event, simply click “Create room” or edit an existing room and click on “+ Advanced configuration”. In this expanded pane, click on the button “Add app”. A new window appears and offers you two fields: App Name: Enter the name which should be displayed to other attendees. App URL: Enter the URL of the application that you would like to embed.   • [Rooms] How do I configure a website to be embeddable in an app?
    In order to allow the integration of a website in a room app, the site that is being added as a web app needs to allow the embedding by the Veertly platform. This is achievable through the headers provided by the respective website. Before allowing a webpage to be embeddable on an iframe, browsers check the headers the respective website provides. If it denies the embedding, the browser refuses to connect and an error is shown in Veertly. To solve this issue, **the following header must be retuPopular
  • Do you have a solution for selling tickets?
    We do not support the selling of tickets directly from the Veertly platform, but you can use any 3rd party system. We do have an API that allows the registration of new guests inside an event, so it can be used to integrate with this third party system. Another alternative is to add a registration page in your event page and provide your attendees with a PayPal link for them to pay for the ticket, then you can manually allow them to enter the event. ${youtube}[Veertly API explainerPopular
  • [Access Control] How to control access to an event?
    You can configure the access to your event directly in the cockpit. There are three different modes: Free access: your event is free and publicly accessible to everybody. On the event page the “Join event now” button will allow anyone to enter your event Password protected: you will specify a common password for all attendees.     In Veertly, we are all about customization! We want you to have the event that you want and as you wish it to look like.   • [Backdoor] What is Backdoor Access?
    In order to have a great event, preparation is a must! That’s why we want to allow you to enter your event before others and start preparing the stages for your attendees. On the top right of your cockpit page, you have a “Backdoor access” button that will allow you to enter it even if it is not live yet.     The lobby page of the event can be updated at any time during the event.   • [Rooms] How do I create a room?
    In order to create a room, you need to be inside your event (you can use the backdoor access if the event is not live yet). From the Rooms tab, you have the option to create any number of rooms. After clicking the "create room" button you will be prompted to fill out its name and add a description if you'd like.   • How can I create a Veertly event?
    You can create your event here. You can configure the title, website, dates, banner and description of your event. Please note that in order to add a banner, it needs to be in the ratio 600 x 337 pixels. If you want, you can also add a 2nd banner at the bottom of your description taking the full width of the description; just add the url of that banner in the last field.   • [Access Control] How to manage the guest list?
    You can control exactly who has access to your event and revoke their access at any time. You can manage all your guests on the Access Control tab of your cockpit page.     Sending broadcast messages to your attendees can be a very good way to drive actions from your audience. You can for example define a welcome message, inform about activities going on in other places, promote your sponsors, forward your attendees to other locations of the event like a specific room or networking area, etc. You can do that by creating a message in the broadcast section of the navigation bar.   • [Polls] How to configure polls?
    Similar to the networking area, you can also replace the default Veertly’s polls functionalities with a 3rd party solution. For that, you can set the URL of your desired system in the cockpit under the configuration tab.   • [Access Control] How to add a registration form?
    If you want to add a RSVP form on your event page, you can do it in case you have the guest list access mode enabled. Enable this mode in the cockpit and you will see a section to activate the registration form and configure each field. Once a user registers for an event, they will be automatically added to the guest list of the event and you can then approve their guest access.   • [Configuration] How to set a custom networking area?
    Veertly’s networking allows attendees to interact in 1-1 conversations with the other participants or join other networking conversations. However, we understand that you might want to user other tools for the networking area.     The Social Wall feature of Veertly lists tweets with a certain #HashTag directly into your event. This can be extremely interesting for hybrid events to connect people in the venue with the audience online!     In the polls section, you can create a poll for your participants. The polls can contain several possible answers but participants can only select one option. You can add multiple answers and reorder them if you desire.   • [Rooms] Why would I use a room?
    Rooms are the most engaging feature of Veertly! They are a great way to drive engagement since you can setup each one with a specific purpose or add several apps inside. Some use case for rooms: team building activities; promote discussions by topic of interest; collaboration tools, create a leisure area.   • [Rooms] How to limit number of attendees in rooms?
    If you want to limit the amount of people per room, in the advanced configuration you can set the number of attendees that are allowed to enter. By default, rooms are limited to 42 people but you can increase to any number.Few readers

    “Apps” is a way to integrate web apps into your rooms in a Veertly event. You can use different web apps so your attendees can use them at the same time as they are talking with the other participants.   • Is it possible to run music in the background?
    Yes, there are several options: You can stream music through the Main Stage and the mini player, then everyone in the event can have it on and listen to the mini player, for this you can simply use a YouTube video for example. You can also embed a Spotify playlist in a room, but only the people who actually have a Spotify account can listen actively. The most beautiful but also technically demanding option would be to create a user name "Music" via a streaming tool such as OBS and VB-AuFew readers
  • [Manage Attendees] How to manage attendees?
    As a host, if you want, you can manage where your participants are inside your event. In order to get to the manage attendees feature, you can click your profile picture on the top right and select manage attendees. On the manage attendees dialog, you can: Move all attendees to the main stage: You can select which areas of your event the participants will be moved from. This allows you to include/exclude specific locations or rooms. You can also filter out the hosts and speakers from theFew readers
  • How many people can be in a room?
    Each room can have up to 100 people, but if everyone has their camera on it might not be displayed for some, as this depends on each person's bandwidth and hardware and the connection may become unstable. Therefore we recommend a limit of 20 to 30 people in a video conference for an optimum experience, unless most cameras are disabled.Few readers
  • [Configuration] How to configure event settings?
    On the “Configuration” tab of your cockpit event, you can configure several parameters: Rooms creation by attendees: Define if your attendees are allowed to create rooms or if this is only available for the hosts. If this is disabled, you can still allow your hosts to create rooms in a single category by enabling it in the category itself.     If your event is configured with a live stream, as a host you can enable your attendees to activate a “mini player” allowing them to watch the main stage while navigating in the rest of the platform, for example being inside a room.Few readers

    As a host, if you want, you can manage where your participants are inside your event. In order to get to the manage attendees feature, you can click your profile picture on the top right and select manage attendees.   • [Rooms] How to get a direct link to a room?
    In some specific cases, you may want to have your attendees to join a specific room. You can also customize the link to your room by editing the url on the edit page of your room (under the advanced configuration). You can as well edit the category url that is part of the link of your room on the edit page of the category.   • [Rooms] Which type of apps can I create?
    You can create the following type of apps: Web app: any web page that can be embeddable in another web page. You just need to configure the name and the url of the app. Video player: this type of app allows you to embed any video from a video site (like youtube, vimeo, twitch, facebook, etc), or any live stream. You only need to provide the link to the video itself. This is using the same mechanism as the Main Stage, which allows you to have parallel live sessions in addition to thFew readers
  • [Backstage] How to configure the backstage?
    In order to configure the backstage, just add the link to your StreamYard studio or other platform on the main stage tab of the cockpit of your event. Please note that in order to have the backstage activated, you need to enable it on both the main stage backstage section but also on the Look & Feel section.Few readers
  • [Recordings] What is the maximum duration of recordings?
    The maximum duration of recordings are six hours. If enabled, recordings can be initiated by any host of the event.Few readers
  • [Main Stage] How to turn main stage live on/off?
    In case you have a main stage with a live stream, you need to set it as live on the app once your stream is up and running. You can do that directly from the application on the Main Stage pane. Check the video below for more details. Please note that it can take up to some seconds to have the stream being played to all users.   • [Dashboard] What can be seen on the Dashboard?
    Analytics are essential to improve every event, and that’s why we want to provide you with all the information that you can retrieve about your event. On the dashboard tab you can see: How many users are online. How many minutes all your participants have spent online inside your event. Here you can also get a detailed report of all the sessions of your attendees (which areas of the event they have been and how much time they spent there, in an anonymised way).   • [Rooms] Is there a way to stream the main stage into each of the rooms?
    Yes, when creating and editing a room simply copy the url of the stream that you are using and add it as an app, choosing “Video player” as the app type. This way it looks the same for every attendee regardless if they are in the main stage or a streaming room.Few readers
  • Can I embed Veertly on my page?
    In order to do that just add an iframe with the link to your event. Please note that you need to allow the camera and microphone on the iframe code so they can be used by Veertly on the video calls.Few readers

    If your event is configured with a live stream, as a host you can also enable your attendees to enter directly into the live stream by activating the “Backstage” section of your event.   • How to duplicate an event?
    You can duplicate your event in the cockpit by clicking on duplicate event on the top right of your event page. When you duplicate an event, you need to provide the new url of your new event.   • How to embed a Google Doc?
    To embed a Google Doc you need to make sure the file you want is public and to replace the word **** with preview in the link.   • How to embed a Google Drive folder?
    With the Custom Apps feature in Veertly, you can embed any web app into a Veertly room. In order to embed a google drive, some particular settings are needed.   • [Rooms] How many rooms can I create?
    There are no limit to the number of rooms you may have.Few readers
  • Why can I not see my broadcast messages when I should?
    This may happen if your pc's clock is not accurate. You might not see the broadcast at all or have it delayed somewhat. Please see how to correct the time if you have a Mac here.   • How to check list of attendees?
    In the cockpit, you can see all users that have attended the event on the Attendees section. Please note that this list only contains the emails that have been marked as public. Please note as well that if a user connects several times as a guest, they can be shown multiple times in this list.Few readers

    The mini-player can be activated on the Main Stage section of the cockpit. Please note that the mini-player can only be activated if the main stage is configured with a live-stream mode.Few readers

  • Moderator tools in Veertly (mute attendees, follow-me, etc)
    For all events that are upgraded to 'Premium', the hosts will have additional features in the video call, such as making sure that everyone joins the call muted or without their video on. Additionally, hosts can apply the follow-me functionality so that everyone sees the same view as the moderator of this call. Moderators can also start the recording of the session.
