How to use the Double-Opt-in function

Modified on Wed, 25 Jun at 4:54 PM

The double opt-in procedure is a valuable method of ensuring that users are consciously and voluntarily subscribed to an email distribution list. It helps to avoid unwanted spam messages and improve the deliverability of emails.

If you setup an event with registration, you can add the following Double-Opt-in link in the Opt-In email template: {{opt_in_link}}
This will mean the person signing up will need to CONFIRM (Opt in) via the first email received that they actually Opt in to further emails and their participation in the event.
So, you simple select the following:
Event Access - Guest list
Login methods - Sign in with Email

Optionally: Enable "Enforce double opt-in" to only send out registration/invitation email after opt-in is given

You can customize your OPT-IN EMAIL TEMPLATE but it has to include the {{opt_in_link}}

After registering, registrants then get an email in which they can or have to confirm their registration via this double opt-in flow.
And finally, in the cockpit you can easily see who's clicked the Opt-in link.
This is also available in the data exports.
